CONSISTENCY

By Shephard Victor

Ten years from now, will you still be here or there?
I remember when I was younger and was often asked to fetch water into the big black drum at home. It always felt like a daunting task at first, because the first three or four buckets never seemed to make any difference. The drum still looked empty, and it felt like my effort didn’t count. But as I kept fetching and pouring, little by little, something changed. Before long, the same intimidating drum was full to the brim.
That simple routine taught me one of life’s greatest lessons: “Consistency always pays.”
Right now, there are people in the crucible of training whom you’ve never heard of. They may not look remarkable. They may even appear insignificant. But if they stay consistent if they remain steadfast under discipline and process they will be filled. They will emerge.
Ten years ago, not many people had heard of men of God (including that man or woman that is on your mind as you read this right now). But their consistency, despite challenges, opposition, and obscurity, paved the way for where they are now.
So, what will the next ten years reveal? Who will rise as God’s battle axes?
Perhaps they are among us already Sunday school teachers, Bible study leaders, ushers, interpreters, unit heads, church sextons people quietly serving, being molded in secret places.
The question is: what version of you will the next ten years unveil?
The same you or the better, refined, and useful you?
More Blessings!
