Continuing in Prayer

By Shephard Victor

There are moments when divine intervention feels immediate
Times when prayer feels effortless and refreshing,
Times when answers appear swiftly, and we are excited, even proud of God’s responsiveness.
Those moments encourage us to pray more; they strengthen our faith.
But then, there are other seasons…
Seasons when, after praying faithfully and fervently, we see no visible results.
Seasons when it seems the more we pray, the more disappointing the outcome.
Think of praying for a nation and how the more you pray, the more discouraging the headlines get.
Or praying for transformation in a loved one’s life, only to wake up to worse news than the day before.
What do we do in those moments?
Do we rise from our knees, discouraged, and give up?
Do we abandon the prayer closet because things seem “stubborn” and unchanged?
No!
We keep praying.
For men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1).
We are designed to persevere in prayer, even when results seem delayed.
For when impossibilities loom and darkness blankets the earth,
That’s when God’s radiant light breaks through.
To those dwelling in darkness, in illness, in barrenness, or captivity, a great light has appeared (Isaiah 9:2).
We will not stop.
We will not quit.
We will keep praying.
So, beloved,
Let’s pray again.
And again.
And again…
He hears. He sees. And in due time, He answers.
Amen.
More Blessings!
